Visiting Italy's Lake District: Part Va - Belgirate

After completing our ample and delicious lunch at the lakefront restaurant, we took a short walk through the little village of Belgirate, first along the lakeside,

then into the town

where we climbed past what used to be the village laundromat (lavanderia) and local social gathering place when women washed clothes by hand.

We passed through a walkway under the train track

and viewed some local flora

and majestic villas

before descending into the arcaded walkways of the town once again.

While the rest of the group split up, one part to walk to the next bus stop, the other to hike along the lakeside all the way back to Stresa, HWMBO and I were tired  (at least, I was tired - he was likely still in the latter stages of jet lag).  So we decided decided to while away some time with an afternoon cappuccino at a local cafe until the bus arrived at the stop where we already were.

Once arrived at Stresa and the Hotel Fiorentino, we busied ourselves with packing in preparation for departure the next morning, ultimately to arrive at Lake Como after a stop along Lake Lugano.  All told, we had had a wonderful excursion for our final day around Lago Maggiore.
