After yesterday's sad post, it's nice to be able to reassure oneself by thinking about the younger and, especially, the youngest generations. While this Proud Grandmom is still waiting to see photos of the White House Easter Egg Roll from last Monday, she has been consoling herself with photos of her Special Boy, Prince Tyger, from months ago, specifically from late summer 2009. In the meantime, we have had a report that the Prince enjoyed the whole event immensely, although he couldn't see the point in trying to roll an egg with a spoon. To his mind, picking the egg up and tossing it forward was a much more effective and pragmatic way of getting it to go somewhere. And just why did the egg have to go anywhere anyway?
Since Prince Tyger is still small enough to be held and cuddled - a stage that generally doesn't last too long with little boys in my experience - I thought that I would post a few photos today of these fleeting moments. In a few more months, it is likely that moments such as these will be forever in the past.
Here he is with Proud Granddad J, just after waking up from his nap.
Proud Papa, #1 Son, Big T, holds him in the sun. Prince Tyger is rather bored with the attention and the photo shoot.
Proud Momma H helps him open presents on his first birthday. Then he wasn't even half her size. Now he is more than three-fifths. If he continues like this, he'll be carrying her by the time that he's two.
Here he sits with Proud Papa at the end of our Oregon beach visit, wondering why everyone is leaving when he had just gotten used to them ... and all the extra attention. Hey - come back and play!
And here he is with Proud Grandmom Sagidreamer, dying to jump headfirst into the Chesapeake Bay. Grandmom, on the other hand, is not too keen on the idea.
