Travels in China - Miscellaneous Glimpses in Shanghai

Finding something to eat did not seem to pose a problem for the intrepid voyagers.  They had a selection that ranged from vending machines (although it would certainly have helped to know how to read Chinese characters),
to fresh fish in a tank,
to crawdads in a basin.
Roast pork and duck also featured among the available street fare,
as did a striking variety of fresh dim sum.
Remember the fish in the tank?  Here is one after preparation,
with other entrees and accompaniments served so that all at the table could help themselves.  As they did.
HWMBO, always one to appreciate a good beer, thoroughly enjoyed the Chinese selection!
But eating and sightseeing were not the only cultural experiences for the group.  They also attended the theater,
witnessed a banquet hall set up for a wedding, Shanghai-style,
and just caught a glimpse of the proud and handsome newlyweds,
finally finishing up their Shanghai experience by marveling at the dexterity
and agility
of Chinese acrobats.
