Travels in China - Xi'an and Glimpses of Chinese Culture

HWMBO and the group enjoyed their visit to Xi'an and the richness of the Chinese culture they viewed there.  From their glimpses of long-venerated goddesses such as Guanyin,
here in a many-armed manifestation,
to the stoic, but amazingly human, faces of the Terra Cotta warriors,
to ornately decorated walls,
to living, breathing Chinese such as this beautifully garbed dinner hostess,
each new experience literally left them in awe at the richness and variety of the Chinese culture in Shaanxi province.
From maps showing how many silk trade routes began in Shaanxi province, only to spread to the rest of Asia, throughout Europe and North Africa and even to North and Central America in the New World,
to rows of porcelain figurines,
to imperial lions
and receptacles of bronze,
there was much to wonder at and admire.
