First Glimpses of Geneva

On the first day after my summer visitors had returned from their exciting visit to Venice, just before their UNIGE classes began, we let them have a much-needed lie-in until early afternoon.  Then we headed into Geneva to orient them for the Big Day (the beginning of their classes on Monday afternoon).  We also spent time visiting some of the traditional sightseeing haunts, such as the Flower Clock next to the Jardin Anglais (English Garden).

The girls enjoyed spending a few minutes getting acquainted with the swans along the quais of Lake Geneva.

But, after we had walked around until we were footsore and thirsty, we all stopped for some liquid refreshment in Place Molard.

We were, however, not quite thirsty enough to merit this amount of beer!

But it was nice to realize that if we ever were THAT thirsty, such an opportunity was available.
