Once I arrived back on this side of The Pond, the appeal of the littlest grandkids could not be denied. HWMBO and I were aware that Prince Tyger and his parents had big plans for the July 4th holiday that involved fleeing the Big City and spending some time "getting away from it all" in the countryside. So we popped in on the Tyger and his Papa, Big T, who are spending lots of quality time together these days while Sweet H is "bringing home the bacon." Big T has taken a leave of absence from his usual day job and is acting as the Tyger's primary caretaker for a time.
When we arrived, the Prince had just risen from his nap, was a little mussed up and wondered who these "new" people in his life were.
That didn't daunt him, however. He warmed up quickly and showed us how to use his lawn mower
and his telephone.
His "riding skills" have improved a lot since I last saw him. "Look, Gramma, one hand!"
Then there was the slide, which he can do all by himself.
"Yes, I'm going to do it. Whee!" (Okay, so he didn't really say all this, but I know that's what he was thinking!) I just missed getting a shot of the "plop" at the end of the slide run.
Then it was time to check the mail. Big T reports that one must be quick about this or the mail goes right back outside. That's what those slots are for, isn't it?
Based on how Big T looked when we left, little Prince Tyger not only has his Papa wrapped around his little finger, but also at the point of exhaustion!
We are definitely looking forward to more such visits in the near future.
