One thing about Princess Butterfly that seems to have firmly been established is that she is a turophile. "Turophile" is a word that originated from ancient Greek - from tyros (cheese) and philos (beloved, dear) and means quite simply "cheese-lover." How Princess Butterfly would have gloried in our visit to the village of Gruyères this summer, as described here! In fact, I described an earlier encounter with a bagel and cream cheese that the Princess herself had this summer here.
What I had not realized at the time of that post was that the Princess will often forego the bagel itself simply to get the best benefit from the cream cheese filling. This time, I was physically present during an episode of the Siege of the Bagel and was able to witness the event for myself. The scene of the encounter was at one of the Las Vegas Einstein Bros Bagels. First, Princess Butterfly quenches her thirst with apple juice.
Once her bagel arrives, the Princess favors a two-fisted eating style.
It's not clear how much of the cheese actually made it to her little tummy. But she's certainly having a great time.
The night before my departure, Princess Butterfly, together with Papa Big S, Sweet Momma M and I, dined at (you could probably guess) The Cheesecake Factory.
The Princess considers what she will order.
The choice ended up being a cheeseburger. She received two mini-cheeseburgers with fries as part of the children's meal.
Whoops - not that way, Princess! The burger is on the other side.
What finally happened was that the Princess first ate the cheese. Then she ate one of the mini-burgers.
She wasn't at all excited about the buns and didn't eat many fries. Her favorite meal at home is macaroni and cheese. From all the evidence I've seen, she is indeed a turophile. Long may it last!
